Title: King of Hearts [Chapter 2] Author: Chocolate_Ai Genre: Fantasy, Action Rating: PG13 Pairing: Dooseob, Junseung, Kiwoon A/N: I'll draw the Card Guardians myself... and will post them later ;D No, they never knew each other yet. They'd only heard about each other through the news on the Card Battle, and each other's nicknames. Nicknames were only given to those who rank above Ten of Spades, that is, the Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces. And of course, the Joker. Dongwoon walked out the moment his name was called. He felt as if his stomach had sunk to the floor the moment he stepped onto the battle area. It was like a stadium, which never failed to remind him of the Colosseum in Rome. He stood in the middle of the area while Doojoon's name was being called upon. As usual, Doojoon appeared like a king, full of confidence and Dongwoon could almost feel his aura there. He cursed himself for being so unlucky to be encountered with Doojoon. Doojoon knew Yoseob was looking at him, from somewhere in the stadium. He'd have to give it his best, no one wants to look bad in front of their lover. He walked calmly towards where Dongwoon stood, and waited for a moment before they were announced to start. As quick as lightning, they both pulled out their cards and summoned their Card Guardians. Dongwoon knew the form of Doojoon's Card Guardian, but Doojoon didn't know his as he skips his level every time he fights which means different form of Card Guardian every single time he appears in the battle. That was why he was given the nickname "The Skipper." Doojoon initiated the attack, commanding his Card Guardian to unsheath his mighty sword and sprung forward towards Dongwoon's Card Guardian, who was getting ready to dodge his attacks. Dongwoon's Card Guardian had long limbs, which made it easy for quick movements. The King didn't give him any chance to attack, he kept on thrusting and slicing everywhere he could but simply missed Dongwoon's Jack. Doojoon was a more skilled Player as he had been in the battle for many times to have reached the King of Spades, whereas Dongwoon was barely experienced. He believed it was just his luck that his level skips everytime he joined and won a battle, and the fight with Doojoon was his sixth battle. Dongwoon definitely didn't want to lose, he dodged every attack made by Doojoon and used his speed to his advantage. The King wasn't slow, it's just that his Jack's faster. It seemed as if he had disappeared from the tip of Doojoon's sword, but actually it was just speed. Dongwoon reappeared behind Doojoon and thrusted his fire-covered lance, aiming at the head. Doojoon quickly reacted, he stepped back and the sword just barely missed his right eye. He was taken by surprise when Dongwoon continued his attack, resulting in his King's crown being sliced into two. Dongwoon thought he had turned the table over, when he caught a glimpse of whom he thought was Kikwang, standing near the entrance to the stadium. He was dumbfounded, when Doojoon took the chance to attack and end the battle with a slice to Dongwoon's neck. Doojoon was announced as the winner but Dongwoon didn't care anymore. At that moment, he just wanted to confirm if that was Kikwang, and if he was, he wanted to hug him. He ran towards the exit where he thought he saw him, but to his dismay, no one was there. He looked around, trying to see if he'd went somewhere but still no trace of Kikwang. Was it his phantasm, he didn't know. He didn't even bother to notice the change in his card. "That guy stopped moving for awhile during the battle. That's how I got him but it doesn't feel good," Doojoon told Yoseob, though it sounded more like a complain than an explanation. "Anyway, I'm glad you've won! Just don't let any Player do any damage to your card... or else..." "I know what will happen if the card is damaged during battle. You don't have to remind me." Doojoon wanted Yoseob to stop worrying about him, which was a very hard task. He held out his card to examine if there's any changes, but he was disappointed. He didn't like staying in the same level for too long, it was boring. The look of the King of Spades in his card was as if he was telling Doojoon to keep waiting for the change. Sarcastic. A/N: Chapter 2 successfully done. I'll see how long can this fic last. It's pretty boring to me actually. LOL Labels: October 2011
